The trail to the Kilauea Iki Overlook can be quite surreal. The old Volcano Drive north of the crater has fallen into disrepair. Tree ferns and cycads grow from the neglected macadam. But, the trail eventually leads you to one of the more impressive views in the park (see the previous page).
